The holiday season is upon us! This time of year is always unique here at RCH. There are many mixed emotions filling our home. There is excitement about decorating, baking, gifts, and special adventures. Unfortunately, there is also heartache, anger, and loneliness as the girls face the reality of spending the holidays away from family and friends. Our amazing staff works hard to help the girls focus on the positives emotions and cope with the negative emotions. It is incredible to see them work persistently to provide the best care to each young lady we serve. In addition to a wonderful staff we are thankful to be in the amazing community of Dahlonega.
There is a giving spirit in the residents of this beautiful town that is second to none. Our donors, volunteers, and mentors serve us faithfully meeting need after need. Donors ensure that our girls will wake up on Christmas morning to find presents under the tree, and joy some of them have never known. They make sure that our girls not only receive items that they need, but also gifts that allow them to enjoy their childhood. Volunteers help us with everything from yard work to imparting valuable knowledge to the girls we care for. They allow us to provide each girl with wider array of beneficial life experiences that will help better prepare them for adulthood. Mentors work faithfully with a young lady to give them guidance, advice, and help them find their own pathway to success. It truly does take a village to raise a child, and we are thankful to have an amazing village.
